The process by which immigrants obtain a green card to legally reside in the U.S. is maddening, convoluted and fundamentally unfair. As Robert Guest notes in today’s Western Citizen TV segment via PopTech, the U.S. is uniquely positioned to continue as the world’s leading superpower thanks to its unparalleled ability to attract working immigrants from around the world.
Despite the heated rhetoric over the last couple election seasons, a Pew Research Center survey finds that 63 percent of Americans support an open path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants.
So how do we repair the broken immigration system?
