Western Citizen was launched to provide an interactive forum for informed discussion about issues important to residents of the Rocky Mountain West.

We welcome spirited debate but that can only be accomplished through a self-moderating community dedicated to civil discourse that is free from abusive personal attacks and inflammatory comments.

To achieve those ends, we’ve adopted the following comment policy:

• If you wouldn’t say it face-to-face, don’t type it in the comment box.
• Spam will be removed immediately and the commenter banned from the site. No exceptions.
• Comments are conversations. Messages that don’t advance the topic, are clearly off-topic or are intended to stifle dialogue will be removed. Repeated instances may result in being banned.
• Offensive or inappropriate language should be flagged by the community for moderation.
• Divulging personal information to embarrass or harass other commenters is grounds for immediate removal and banning.
• Comments on Western Citizen are the responsibility of the individual commenter. Readers agree to hold harmless Western Citizen, its administrator, contributor, editor, author, all subsidiaries and representatives from any and all repercussions, damages, or liability.
• We reserve the right to delete any comments at any time.
